It’s been a bit since our last update so here’s a quick look into the summer of 2017 so far.

School ended at the beginning of June with an action-packed few weeks: lacrosse (Margo helped the girl’s lax team to their first-ever Championship title!), senior trip, some fitness testing, New Student Orientation (we have an awesome crew of new skiers joining us in fall), final exams, prom, senior dinner and finally, graduation. Alex, Elliot, Margo, and Walker are off to college in the fall and we will miss them but look forward to seeing them excel wherever their futures take them! We will also miss Charlie, who’s family is moving to Lake Placid, NY, but hope to meet him on the trails at some point!

At the end of June GMVS hosted the 2017 Eastern Regional Elite Group camp, welcoming 40 of the top junior cross country skiers from New England and New York. The week included some testing to nominate potential skiers to the National Training Group but focused mostly on quality training.

July 24th NENSA is hosting the App Gap Challenge, a duathlon-style rollerski race, right here in the Mad River Valley and we’re looking forward to some strong representation from the GMVSxc crew. For more information or to register please see their registration page. Hope you see you there!

Happy Summer!
